Tickets are still available for the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s
Puttin’ on the Leash fund-raiser Saturday.

Participants will start the evening with wine, micro-brewed beer and
gourmet hors d’oeuvres from more than 30 area restaurants.

Tables will be set with many silent auction items donated by businesses.
Items include personal products, clothing, home furnishings, travel items
and sporting goods. Adoptable pets will be on hand to meet browsing guests.
Live auction items include a Vail vacation, Schwinn bikes, hot-air balloon
rides, a stay at Shoshoni Yoga Retreat and local art. A raffle will award
a Bahamas vacation that will include a swim with dolphins.

The annual fund-raiser also features the All Star Fashion Show, in which
"star volunteers" from the Specially Trained Adoptable Rovers
program walk animals available for adoption down a catwalk platform.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley strives to achieve 100 percent placement
of their adoptable animals. Proceeds of Saturday’s gala event go to support
the animals at the shelter. Other sponsors include Boulder Toyota Volvo,
the Daily Camera, PETsMART Charities, ‘Nuf Said Advertising, Rage Sportswear
and Design, Marty Wineland’s Charisma, Schwinn, Exabyte, Natural Habitat
Adventures and Xilinx.

The event is at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Coors Event Center on Regent Drive
at the University of Colorado. Tickets are $50, available at the Humane
Society, 2323 55th St. in Boulder, by calling (303) 442-4030 ext. 651
or at the door.
